Why the heck did I get a black car? It’s a pain in the ass and I don’t particularly enjoy cleaning my car in the first place. I went from white to black and black is definitely harder to keep clean. I wish I had a touch free car wash around here and I'd just go weekly.

I’ve always heard white is the easiest and black is the hardest to keep clean. My last car was black and it was super hard to keep clean. My current grey car is easier.

You moved to the country and bought a dark horse. You need to brush that horse or it’s coat will be dirty. There is no such thing has an automatic horse cleaner. Saddle up and put in the work. Or else your going to have to shoot that horse.

Black is great to look at, not-so-great to own.

The swirls... The SWIRLS!!!

White sucks if you live on a dirt road or thrash it regularly but, all easier than black.

Oh yeah - did that once, back in high school / college decades ago and learned my lesson quickly. No black interiors and no black exteriors.
I once had a friend ask about color when shopping for a car. I said no black, his boss said no metallic. Of course he buys black metallic which he constantly bitched about, especially when it started flaking off the roof. On a leased car. A car with an incredibly stupid 5 year lease. Not a Benz or BMW but a friggin’ Honda. Yeah, not too bright...

Next car will be a real color.

I want a yellow something next. Won't be for a few years but probably yellow.

A dirty horse still runs near as fast as clean one.

I have white, silver, and green-so-dark-it-could-be-black. The silver is by far the easiest; it never really looks dirty (unless really bad) nor clean. The white shows road grime, tar, brake dust, and so on really badly, but not so much pollen or dust. The dark green looks bad the fastest, but just needs dusted off when that happens. Darker-colored dirt hides better.
Short form:
Grey = Easy
White = Medum
Dark Green / Black = Time consuming

A gelded horse too, but do you want to remove the nuts from your Mustang?

Let me guess, 8th gen Civic.

Heh, it came gelded from the factory. Less wind resistance at full trot?

White car owners think white cars are hard to keep clean, lol.
/somewhere in middle
//black worse by far

The easiest color to clean is beige. Not very popular with the sports car crowd. Ford has
n’t offered it on the mustang since MY 2000.

I’ d rock a beige- stang would have to be a V6 though

The struggle is real. But the results are well worth thr effort. Nothing shines quite like a black car.

Cleaning a poorly maintained black car can be sole destro ying but maintaining a new or nearly new black car has been a pleasure, needs a little more care than other colours but generally I adopt a safe wash practice anyway so not really been a hardship.
It shows dust up more but a good summer anti static shampoo works wonders.

If you can spare anywhere from $100 to $200 I am sure there are many professional Detailers who’d do that for you? For almost free, you need about 4 hours and some blood sweat and tears.
This one’s just a wash and wax though. Took about an hour for me.

Spoiler: Yellow is a combination of all the bad things of both black and white.

If it was the same color as my dad’s old one, that doesn’t surprise me at all. They had two shades of black, depending on the year.

I bet it doesn’t look as bad as black when it hasn’t been flawlessly kept, though.

Grey is a decent compromise, but I prefer white for the low maintenance required. You can really get it nice but you can also not do much more than wash it and it will always look decent (except when dirty, but nothing looks great dirty).

Yup. Cleanest looking cars are dirt-coloured cars.

I’ve always found white cars to look the dirtiest.

Also if there’s ever body damage, white is the absolute easiest color to work with while any other color is a pain to mix juuuuuust right.

I concur, I infact have so little time my car ends up looking like crap all day everyday. cleanliness lasts about 2-3 days...
